- Central Park Toll Tunnel
A vehicular urban toll tunnel (VUTT), from 125th Street under Central Park,
will:
1. get car traffic out of the park,
2. reduce thehoard of buses on Fifth and Madison Avenues,
3. speed north-south Manhattan traffic, and
4. be paid for by the CPTT truck and car users.
VUTTs are the future of cities.

Whereas the State and Federal Governments
sponsor public meetings and functions to which citizens are invited, and
Whereas compared to automotive travel, mass
transit saves energy, reduces noise and air pollution, and destroys fewer natural
resources,
Therefore be it enacted and decreed that
all notices and announcements of all state-sponsored and state-supported public gatherings
and meetings include prominently displayed directions for reaching said gatherings by
public transportation.

- DOW NOW
Walking is New York Citys most widespread form of transportation, yet there
is no City department diligently promoting the cause of the majority of New York City
residents who walk. New Yorkers walk to work, walk to shop, walk to our banks and
our tailors. New York kids make millions of foot trips each week to-and-from their
schools. New Yorkers walk along their waterfronts and in their parks for their
health and to explore our city.... In high-density cities such as New York (a model for
urban agglomerations of the 21St century), walking is the most common form of
transportation.
We propose that New York City establish The Department of Walking and
Human Powered Transportation (DOW-HPT) to look after the interests of
pedestrians, wheel-chair users, skaters and bikers. The NYC DOW-HPT must
be separate and distinct from the Department of Transportation (DOT), which mainly
concerns itself with moving automobiles, trucks, ferries and buses, not with walkers,
bikers and skaters. The NYC DOT has its hands full addressing the traffic flow of
internal-combustion vehicles.
